Angelina Osborne
Dr Angelina Osborne is a British historian, researcher and heritage consultant, focusing on the history of Caribbean enslavement, proslavery discourse and community and education activism. She is co‑author with Patrick Vernon of 100 Great Black Britons: A Celebration of the Extraordinary Contribution of Key Figures of African or Caribbean Descent to British Life, first published in 2020 as part of the 100 Great Black Britons campaign spotlighting prominent individuals throughout British history. In 2007, Osborne authored Equiano’s Daughter: The Life and Times of Joanna Vassa. She is a prominent speaker and expert on Black British history, slavery, abolition and teaching difficult histories, appearing on platforms including BBC Radio 4. Her research combines academic rigour with public engagement and has supported curriculum development and museum interpretation. She continues to promote awareness of historical narratives often overlooked in mainstream education
