Callum Brown

Callum G. Brown is Professor Emeritus of History at the University of Glasgow and a leading historian of religion and secularisation in modern Britain. He is best known for The Death of Christian Britain, a landmark study of rapid religious decline since the 1960s. His work explores how belief, identity, and culture have shifted in modern society, including the rise of humanism and non-religious thought. He is also co-editor of The Humanist Movement in Modern Britain, examining the development of organised humanism and secular ideas. Brown is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the British Academy.
